“We love because he first loved us.”

1 John [4:19]

RETURNING GOD’S LOVE TO OTHERS

Our God is a loving God and not a wrathful condemning God. God cares for us; and has plans and a future for us. Our hearts inherit this love through our faithful recognition of God’s love. In turn we love our neighbor and all the things of God’s creation. The test of our faithful recognition of this love is how we treat humankind, our neighbor. To harbor resentment or ill will fails this test of discipleship. Our brothers, sisters and all of humankind will test this love at times, but our task lies in being a beacon of love to all, despite their actions. Jesus does not want how we are treated to dictate how we treat others, our discipleship requires that we respond as God does, with love.

Points of Reflection

  • How we have inherited God’s love and how does it affect us?
  • What are the hardest moments to give love to others?
  • What does it mean to a beacon of love to others?

Blessings, until next time,
