“O give thanks to the God of heaven,
for God’s steadfast love endures forever.”

Psalm 1[36:26]

TAKING THE TIME TO THANK GOD

Have we stopped recently to thank God for the blessings in our life? Do we only pray when we need something? A healthy mutual relationship is one of thanking and giving, as well as asking and receiving. Our personal relationship with God is the same. When we only ask, we silently ignore the importance of remembering the source of our bounty. When we only ask, we have lowered God to being a genie in our lives. Certainly, God is sovereign and will reign without our thanks, but when we thank God, internally we lift up God’s status in our minds.

Points of Reflection

  • How often do we thank God for life’s blessings?
  • Do we treat God the same way we would want to be treated?
  • What is our personal definition of a “mutual relationship?”

Blessings, until next time,
