Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.”

1 Peter 1:3-4

When we accept Jesus in our heart, we begin to run a different course in life. We put away those things that intrigued us from the past and in turn pick up those things that support the will of God. No longer do we accept momentary slights and get angry. We have a different task to chase. No longer are we enthralled by the lurid, but become hasty in our chase for the ways of God. We put down our newspapers and replace them with the Bible. In this new life we seek good and not evil. In this new life we have a living hope in Jesus. We inherit a place in a heavenly kingdom. Our life urgency has changed to doing good. We become new creations.

Points of Reflection

  • What habit do we want to give up and how does turning it over to Jesus help?
  • How often in the day do we talk or pray to Jesus?
  • What things become more important as we read the Bible and pray?

Blessings, until next time,
